About the Instructor Andrés Cuevas

Andrés was born in Santiago of Chile.  Discovered diving in 2003 when he did his Open Water Diver course. Since then he has expanded his diving to various areas, which include underwater photography, technical diving, wreck exploration, cave diving and side mount.

After finishing the course ‘Advanced Wreck Diver’ in New Zealand, Andrés felt the desire to start teaching all that he had learnt so far and what he would continue to learn into the future. This was when he began the search for the diving styles he was passionate about and how to incorporate these into becoming a Scuba Diver Instructor.

Andrés is convinced that the true potential of diving in Chile still lies dormant. He believes that in Chile this sport must be seen more as a winter sport than a summer sport. He believes that with the correct equipment and training any person can enjoy the waters of Chile.

Andrés believes that the protection of the underwater environment is a responsibility for all divers. He considers that every dive site must be treated as a delicate place and that impacting the area just because we want to visit it is not an option.
